Why is HealthX a good fit for your company?

HealthX is a founder-friendly investor because of our understanding of the entrepreneurial process, willingness to focus on founders’ needs from our first meeting on, and desire to support companies in every way we can.

First and foremost, every team member has sat on the other side of the table. Having founded, worked at, and exited startups, we empathize with the challenges startups face and offer perspective based on experience. We aim to guide founders to appropriate terms in each fundraise to maximize exits. While we are hands on, we also appreciate how challenging it is to run a startup and prefer to empower our founders to run their businesses while being their partners when needed.

We are incredibly hands-on beginning with our first conversation with companies. We helped a new portfolio company navigate their fundraise and select the best term sheet, even though this meant almost losing the deal ourselves. We help with hiring, make introductions to potential customers, and inform strategy. We will serve as companies’ operations teams when needed and have even given a portfolio company a line of credit to make payroll in a tight month. We have continued to back 92% of our portfolio companies, invest in SAFEs, and engage in future fundraises by compiling lists of potential leads (often based on CEO specifications) and making introductions.

Finally, we know when to allow other investors to take a seat at the table. Once a portfolio company grows beyond our sweet spot, we encourage others to join the board to best serve our companies. We maintain involvement but want firms with significant experience in later stage exits or IPOs to join the board because it is in the companies’ best interest.

We’re always looking for innovative entrepreneurs looking to partner with a great investor. We lead rounds, write initial checks in the $1-3M range, and look for startups matching the following profile:

  • Digital health (sorry, no devices or biotech)

  • Selling enterprise software to large providers, payers, or pharma

  • $50,000 - $100,000 in Monthly Recurring Revenue

  • Raising $2M-$10M
